THE VISION Our vision and commitment is to facilitate the emergence of 20,000 sustainable micro-enterprises by the year 2018 with a view to reducing dependence on the energy sector. OUR MISSION To liaise with other civil societies, corporate bodies, governmental establishment and donor agencies to facilitate, monitor, supervise and implement poverty alleviation projects such as micro credit schemes and other human capital development projects. OUR OBJECTIVES This foundation is established for the following purposes: • To provide support services and facilities for the economic, educational and social development of poor women and their dependants in local communities. • To conduct sensitization/enlightenment programmes through symposia, seminars, conferences, mass media workshops and briefings on issues affecting Women and Gender Equality amongst others and advocate for Women and Youth friendly policies and legislations. • To partner with other NGOs and institutions (both private and public) in training Women, Youths, Farmers and Fishermen on local, state, national and international enterpreneurial and poverty eradication skills. • To facilitate, monitor, supervise and implement income generating and poverty alleviation projects such as micro-credit schemes and micro, small and medium enterprises development. • To partner with multinational, national and regional development agencies in the areas of sustainable livelihood development of rural communities and assist in accessing matching (seed) funds and start-up credits from donors and funding institutions for such purposes. • To encourage education and literacy amongst local communities by accessing and funding scholarship schemes and offering support to local educational institutions. • To provide basic social infrastructures and services for the development and well-being of people living in rural areas. • To provide advisory and consultancy services to civil societies, corporate bodies and government establishments especially in capacity building, poverty alleviation and conflict resolution strategies. • To give technical and strategic assistance to project/programme managers, researchers and policy makers, including carrying out baseline research on socio-economic, educational, political and public matters. • To provide youth with contemporary leadership and citizenship training and forge closer as well as more complementary links and highly leveraged partnership initiatives with person(s), bodies, organizations, state governments, federal governments and nations and institutions on similar objectives. • To develop health planning strategies for communities and national benefits in areas of HIV/AIDS, Anti-Retro-Viral Theraphy, Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission and Community-based Counseling and Testing, amongst others. |
